For over fifty years, Camp Saulaine (which in Latvian means "Camp Sunshine") has been the property of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Latvian Church in Toronto. In the early 1950's, it mainly served as a camp for Latvian children and a social focal point for members of the congregation during the summer, but over time it has been developed into a place suitable year-round for religious retreats and social functions such as weddings, concerts and family gatherings.
